The Netherwing Intro

The Netherwing are a group of altered black aspect dragonkin that like to frolic mostly in Shadowmoon, but netherwing can be found in a few other locations in outland as well. At level 70 you can start building rep with this faction once you have obtained epic (280%) flying. The quest chain that open up the netherwing ledge area - and thus the dailies - is long and annoying as the npc quest givers tend to move around quite a bit. But once you grind through you'll have exalted status with this faction in 3 - 7 days.

The majority of quests for this faction take place in shadowmoon valley, with the exception of a few trips to Nagrande.

Points of intrest while you're here in the boonies of outland include:
Herbs - Nightmare Vine, Felweed, Terocone, Mana Thistle, Dreaming Glory
Ore    - Fel Iron, Adamantium, Khorium
Cloth - Mageweave (16 slot bags sell like hot cakes)
Food - Ravager Flesh

So seeing as you're here make the most of it and farm what you can for gold

The Start of the Quest chain is given to you by Mordenai who wanders around the netherwing fields attacking the flayers that hang around the large clumps of crystals. This area is found Southeast next to The Sanctum of the Stars (Scryer quest area and mini town). Just look for giant crystal clumps with dragons flying over head, then you'll be in the right place.

It should be pointed out that while he is in combat you cannot interact with him outside of the 'generic' npc setting. Only when he is out of combat will the bright yellow "!" appear; allowing you to pick up the quest. Moreover, while naughty Mordenai is in combat the "!" he would usually have disappears from the mini map. This means you have to fly low and use your eyes and not the mini map.

There are a total of 9 quests in the chain, with a quick break down of what each entails:
1: Kindness - Kill the flayers in the netherwing fields, and either combine flayer parts to form a carcass or loot a full carcass from the 'big' flayers and feed this to the dragons flying overhead. Just right click the carcass and you'll set it down; one of the dragons will fly down to om nom nom it. You'll do this five times...then go look for Mordenai...again...

2: Seek out Neltharaku - This is just as silly as finding Mordenai; You're looking for a huge blue dragon that does a loop around the netherwing fields. Again you'd think this would be easy but he flies high and the mini map will indicate the "!" or "?" where he was last interacted with and not always where he happends to be. So fly around and use your eyes to find him and again, not the map.

3: Neltharaku's Tale - Once you interact with the dragon, click him again to get the 'speech bubble' option, and hear his story. It's all very sad, the dragonmaw are corrupted and meanies to the netherwing enslaving them and whatnot.

4: Infiltrating Dragonmaw Fortress - Grab this quest and head into the base of the Dragonmaw, all that is required is that you kill a bunch of orcs and any dragons that may also attack you in the process.

5: To Netherwing Ledge! - Head to the floaty island in the southeastern most corner. You are going to collect red sparkles that are nestled in a swirly vine, Once you spot one, you'll notice they are all over the place.

6: Force of Netharaku - Netharaku will give you a red gem you will use to free the enslaved nether drakes. Head back to the base camp of the Dragonmaw and (from a distance) use the red gem on the nether drakes there. They will then attack their captors; dps the orc down and the drake can go free.

7: Karynaku - The mate of Netharaku, this is a simple 'reporting in' quest, picked up from Netharaku and then turned into Karynaku. She is in the center of the uppermost ledge of the dragonmaw fortress, and looks the same as Netharaku.

8: Zuluhead the Whacked - In order to free Karynaku you must defeat Zuluhead to get the key to Karynaku's chains. This is hard at level 70 and will require a group, or an 80+ to accompany you. The best strategy for zuluhead is to pull him inside one of the two huts on either the left or right side. This will line of sight the archers that shoot at you from overhead.

9: Ally of the Netherwing - Neltharaku returns you to to Mordenai, this quest turn in grants +42000 rep with the netherwing putting to at neutral. It also unlocks the dailies on Netherwing ledge. From Here on in whenever you enter Dragonmaw territory you will transform into a male fel-orc riding a special skin version of a Netherdrake. All Dragonmaw orcs will also appear friendly to you, allowing you to complete dailies.
